We loved staying in the yurt! The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed for a peaceful experience. The outhouse was easy to access and the gated deck surrounding the yurt was a perfect spot for our pups. The location was secluded but still easily accessible. Would love to stay again!

We had an amazing time at the Outercamp. We stayed in the gnome’s house. Spectacular view of the mountains, very secluded , romantic and private. Close to the Grandfather Mountain and all the other attractions in the Blue Ridge Parkway. Highly recommend!! Thank you Evan & team!

Last weekend, I had the absolute privilege of hunkering-in for a 2night stay at Gnome’s Yome. It’s WILD how much adventure you can squeeze into a 2night stay when you’re conveniently nestled just 10minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 20minutes from Linville Gorge, and (if you get an early start) about 2hours from Asheville.Gnome’s Yome had everything: a cozy bed, a plush rocking chair for morning coffee on the wraparound porch, a grill with stovetop (perfect for my homemade Tuscan Tortellini soup), fresh towels and linens, a French press + electric kettle, fairy lights, a fire pit for s’mores, and — the showstopper — an outdoor shower under the trees!I’m endlessly grateful to Evan + the Outercamp team for making my stay so special. Their incredible communication, attention to detail, and above-and-beyond hospitality are matched only by their perfect kindness. Outercamp has hospitality down to an art. If you’re craving a mountain escape that feels wild and well-designed, book NOW.

My partner, dogs, and I needed a last minute escape to the serenity of the mountains and this rental absolutely delivered. The thoughtfulness that went into the space, the experience, and the beauty of NC was unmatched. We are used to camping and are okay with critters and finicky weather. It’s all part of the experience. But we didn’t want to deal with the fuss of setting up for one night and this was a perfect compromise. The bed, pillows and rocking chair were so comfortable. The outdoor kitchen area, cooler, ice, and supplies were very handy. For one night it seemed a bit pricey, but at the end of the day our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Evan was a great host! I was a little nervous about my trip as I was solo with my dog for the first time, he was very patient with my questions and I truly had everything I could need there! It’s a huge benefit that the property is private as well and I could enjoy and interact with nature at my own pace and in my own way. The creeks and the waterfall were icing on top!

I found the place to be very unique. I have to thank the hosts — they were always helpful and responded very quickly to my messages. Plus, the place is beautiful and very comfortable. It has a waterfall that feels like it’s just for the guests — private and lovely. We had a great time!

Imagine.

A world where all humans realize the simple benefits of spending time in nature.

Our Purpose.

To create individual harmony by connecting people with nature, and with others.

“Many people want to “protect” nature from the humans. That is not what we’re doing here. We are an extension of nature, just as nature is an extension of us, and when people experience this, it produces an individual harmony that we believe will ultimately lead us to a better world — not just protect nature.

PHASE 01

Build a scalable & sustainable outdoor resort model in WNC, experimenting with new builds, systems, unique land features, and native activities.

PHASE 02

Expand into larger tracts of land where we manage our own conservation areas that guests can interact with, in 3 more locations. Expand our marketing internationally.

PHASE 03

Take the concept to a national level, bringing an outdoor community and unique culture to every beautiful natural area in the country. Spreading our message of balance as our lives become increasingly digital.

Business with love.

Starting with our home in North Carolina.

In one of the most underrated mountainous regions in the US.

Community.

Join our community chat where you can get the first scoop on developments, ask questions to our team, give feedback, and interact with other campers.

Our Team.

We’re looking for creators, explorers, designers, and tradespeople like you! Rockstars only.
Our Story.

It all started in the summer before our senior year of high school when we were printing outdoor-inspired T-shirts out of Marc’s garage and selling them all over town. Marc’s obsession with business paired well with my passion and design creativity. Each shirt highlighted a local outdoor area with a youthful and risk-seeking spirit. We were doing our best to get our friends and neighbors outside while making some extra money to fund more of our own adventures.

That adventure came at the first glimpse of summer in our freshman year of college. We took a huge leap into the unknown with $800 in our pockets, and set off on a 35-day road trip across the US to see some of the outdoor areas we had only dreamed of. We slept anywhere we could pitch a tent, and cooked our gas station hot dogs over a 1973 Coleman Camping Stove. It was this trip that showed Marc and I how little we really needed to be happy.

Four years later, we both graduated from our respective colleges knowing we wouldn’t be satisfied with a 9-to-5. Our adventure had inspired us, and we couldn’t look back. Since then, we became infatuated with real estate and Airbnb, and the creativity & stewardship that came with it.

We have seen great success over the past couple of years with our Airbnb business, and have even acquired a few of our own properties, but our hearts are still not fully in it. We have realized that we need to realign with our roots, to what got us started in business from the beginning — the Great Outdoors. Connecting others with nature and giving them the peace & perspective nature has given us. Sharing the experience of how little we need to be happy. This is where our fire lies.
